Music video shot, directed & edited by Carly Emerick.
A Fading Brunette™ Film, LLC.
Film footage was shot on Wednesday, September 7th, 2016 on location at Century III Mall, in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania.
Theme: Desolate footage of Nick in abandoned spaces.
Carly used true vintage 1986 Special Effects Filters by Polaroid Spectra System during filming. (Including the Red Center Spot Filter 'F102', the Multi-Image 3 Filter 'F104' and the Multi-Image 5 Filter 'F105'.) These filters can be scene being removed from the camera lens at the 3:37 mark, to prove that this effect wasn't done with modern day plug-ins.
Some fun facts:
"Century 3 Mall opened in 1979. It was a booming and happening place in the 1980's and into the mid 1990's. It is now considered a "dead mall" and has very few stores left inside that are in operation. We did try to film some video footage inside the mall but were stopped by mall security and were told that we were not allowed to film inside the mall without prior written consent. It all worked out though to our advantage as we got some pretty cool usable outside footage. I remember going to that mall as a kid and always felt that the parking lot garage architecture was awesome. (If not a little scary.) I didn't realize until adulthood just how strange and unique it was. It was a good place to start filming." ~ Carly Emerick
More about the music video:
"It's creamy and dreamy with purple and pink hues and it looks like it was shot on real film. The video opens with Nick running and closes with Nick walking. It's an artistic metaphor to represent that the actor is no longer running from himself. Nick was, as always, a dream to work with. I love this music video. I am very proud of it." ~ Carly Emerick
